Obituary of Merle Davis

Nellie "Merle" Davis, 91, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Services are private.

Merle was born February 17, 1933 in Forsyth, Georgia to the late George and Willar Amerson. She took joy in raising her four children and making a home for her family. Merle was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and she loved to garden and read. She also loved to do sewing when she was able tailoring dresses and quilts. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister and everyone who knew her will miss her.

In addition to her parents, her husband of 68 years, Frank Davis and two children: Julie Davis Horne and Glenn Jonathan Davis precede her in death.

Merle is survived by her other two children: Cathy Davis Wallace of Kathleen and David Lee Davis of Eatonton; grandchildren: Amy Wallace, Amanda Wood, and Jason Horne; three great grandchildren; and one brother, Don Amerson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Hope Children's Home, 11415 Hope International Dr, Tampa, FL 33625.
