Obituary of Mrs. Dorothy Jean Forrester Oaks

Mrs. Dorothy Jean Forrester Oaks, 59, passed on peacefully at home on April 5, 2024. A celebration of her life will be private.

Jean was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Frank Sydney  Forrester  and Dorothy Jane  Forrester. Jean is preceded in death by her beloved twin sister, Doretha "Jane" Hutcherson. Jean devoted her life to family, friends, and animals.  She was a generous, loving friend who enjoyed roses and other beautiful flowers. Jean also enjoyed any animal; however, dogs and cats were her favorites. In addition to her fur babies, Jean cherished the times spent with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and dear friend who will be deeply missed.

Jean is survived by her beloved husband, Willie Joe Oaks, Jr.; daughter, Deonna Joleene (Christopher) Brubaker; grandchildren: Blade  Brubaker  , Cain Brubaker  , Lance Yoder, Paige Yoder, and Evy  Brubaker  ; sister, Joan (Marty) Collier; sister in laws: Angela (Ron) Bradley and Lea (William) Lancaster; uncles: Ben (Francis) Johnson, III and David (Olivia)  Forrester; aunts: Alice Daniells and Jane Gordon, and a host of extended friends and family.
